YELLOW DOG HOSTED TRIPS

Throughout the year we offer a number of customized, hand-picked trips hosted by different members of the Yellow Dog team. This is a great way to enjoy a fantastic week of fishing with someone who really knows the area, the guides, the fishing, and the overall operation. New hosted dates are being posted on this page throughout the year, so be sure to check back on a regular basis!

2010-2011 HOSTED TRIPS:

Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Bonefish Tagging Week - Abaco Island, Bahamas

(Late-October, 2010)
Yellow Dog is proud to be working in conjunction with Bonefish & Tarpon Trust (www.tarbone.com) to catch and tag as many bonefish as possible over the course of a single week of fishing on Abaco. The week will take place at the new Abaco Lodge, one of the nicest operations in all of the Bahamas. A great research / hosted trip for a very important cause. Please contact Ian Davis at Yellow Dog if you are interested.

Alphonse Island Resort - Seychelles

(November 13-20, 2010)
Join Yellow Dog's Jim Klug this November, when our hosted group of ten will be taking over the entire lodge (i.e. the entire island!) for the week of November 13-20, 2010. Last year during Jim's visit (the same week, by the way) the group enjoyed amazing fishing on Alphonse and St. Francois. They caught bonefish, GT's, milkfish, triggerfish, several other types of trevally, and at least a dozen other "incidental" species that were both beautiful and exotic. We can tell you without hesitation that Alphonse is the neatest saltwater destination that we've ever visited! Aside from the great fishing, we were also incredibly impressed with the guides on Alphonse. They were some of the finest guides we've ever fished with, and we really cannot wait to go back next year and fish with all of them again! The trip schedule for November 2010 week runs from a Saturday to Saturday and starts and ends in Mahe, Seychelles. The week-long package includes the private charter flight from Mahe to Alphonse, all lodging at the resort, guided fishing each day of the trip, all meals, and taxes. To access Mahe, most people fly direct from either London, Paris or Dubai. The flights from London and Paris are roughly 9 hours long. It takes some effort to get to the Seychelles, but we can tell you without hesitation that it is 100% worth it! Total cost per person is $6,900.00. And, while the fishing is probably the main reason to make the journey to Alphonse, this is a GREAT resort for non-anglers as well. Probably one of the better "couples" destinations in a setting that is easily among the most beautiful in the world. Non-angling rates are available, so call Jim for details if you are interested. Please contact Jim Klug at Yellow Dog for more information.

Pesca Maya Lodge Women's Trip - Ascension Bay, Mexico

(December 4-11, 2010)

Join Yellow Dog’s Anne Johansen and Brita Shaw this winter for an amazing week-long trip to one of the finest saltwater destinations in the world. Pesca Maya Lodge is a fantastic operation that offers a premier location in Ascension Bay, great accommodations, phenomenal food, and world-class saltwater flats fishing for bonefish, permit, snook, tarpon, and more. December is a great time to fish this part of the Caribbean, as it falls between the fall storm season and the colder months of winter. During the December timeframe, winds are generally calm, the temperatures are comfortable, and the flats hold large numbers of hungry, aggressive fish! For the week of December 4 - 11, 2010, we have booked an entire private house at the lodge (the Robinson House), and we’ll enjoy the full and complete attention of the staff and guides. After arriving into Cancun (easy, same-day flights from anywhere in the U.S.!) on Saturday, December 4th, we’ll transfer in a private van down to
the lodge, located in the Sian Kian Biosphere Reserve. We will enjoy six full days of amazing saltwater fishing in the waters of Ascension Bay before returning to Cancun on the morning of Saturday, December 11 for our flights back to the U.S. This trip is limited to eight people total, and this hosted week is ideal for anyone who has ever wanted to fish the flats while spending a week with a fun group of women in one of the most beautiful places in
the world.

SightCast Outfitters - Los Roques, Venezuela

(March 6-13, 2011)
Join Ian Davis for a fantastic week of bonefishing Los Roques next spring. Ian did this same hosted trip this year with huge success, so by popular demand we will be offering this trip again for 2011. Please contact Ian Davis at Yellow Dog if you are interested.

Patagonia River Guides - Argentina

(April 10-19, 2011)
Join Yellow Dog's Jim Klug and Ian Davis at one of the finest operations in all of South America for 8 days of fishing the Esquel and Rio Pico areas. We fish this same week every year, (this will be our FOURTH year in a row!) and it is always amazing.  We begin with four days of fishing out of the Esquel region and Estancia La Paz, fishing such rivers as the Rio Grande, Nant Y Fall, Rivadavia, Frey, and others. From there, we head south to the Rio Pico regions, one of the most remote and wild places in all of Patagonia. In the Rio Pico region we fish such rivers as the Corcovado, Rio Pico, and numerous lakes. This is hands down the finest trip in all of Patagonia, and one that we look forward to every year!  Please contact Jim Klug at Yellow Dog for more information.  A maximum of ten people will be joining us on this trip, and five of the spots are already booked!  Let us know if you are interested.
