Ian Davis, Yellow Dog’s Bahamas program director, had a productive visit to Abaco Island in the Bahamas this past May, and as a result, we have added two new operations to our Abaco line up for this coming season. Both destinations are new and very different, thus adding to the diversity of our Abaco programand Bahamas programs. Ian began his visit with a stop-over to see our long-time Abaco associates at Rickmon Bonefish Lodge, which has long been a favorite of our customers. Ian then went on to visit the new Abaco Lodge on the Marls, which is a short drive from the Marsh Harbour Airport. The Marls are a vast and protected fishery teeming with bonefish that readily eat flies. The accommodations at the new lodge as well as the staff are top notch all the way. Next, Ian visited our old friend Captain Clint Kemp’s new operation called The Blackfly Beach House. This is an interim lodge for a new development called Schooner Bay, which Yellow Dog has been involved with sicne its inception. Until the new resort property is complete, Clint has rented a beautiful guest house overlooking the Eastern shore of Abaco. This is an upscale and very clean house that sleeps up to six. Paul Pinder is Clint’s head guide and will be the outfitter for the fishing program.

Belize’s Maya Island Air recently announced two new flights per day between Cancun and Belize City, which may offer many of you access to more competitive airfares.
