Updated: 8/10/2022 Yellow Dog is excited to offer three different packages to ensure anglers traveling to the Amazon can experience all it offers in one trip. Add on a few days to a sister lodge at a special rate, or experience all three! This is the perfect trip for you if you want to overcome the logistics of planning multiple trips to target aggressive peacock bass, massive arapaima, and the devilish payara.
Rio Marie/Pirarucu
Rio Marie is the leading lodge for trophy-sized peacock bass in the Amazon rainforest. Anglers traveling to Rio Marie are surrounded by two million hectares of jungle, with access to some of the most prized locations for peacock bass. Guests will spend their nights aboard a fully furnished and air-conditioned yacht on the same waters they fish each day. After six full days of fishing, anglers take a charter flight to Pirarucu, where more adventure awaits them.
Pirarucu Lodge is located in the largest arapaima reserve on the planet, where fish regularly grow upwards of two hundred pounds. Aptly compared to tarpon, these fish gulp air from the surface, granting anglers the opportunity to sight fish for true dinosaurs. Once hooked, the acrobatics begin, and anglers will be challenged by the sheer weight, strength, and tenacity of the largest scaled freshwater fish on earth. Accommodations at the Lodge are both comfortable and unique, with floating cabins all connected to the main lodge. Depending on the availability of commercial flights, anglers can opt for an additional two, four, or six days at Pirarucu after their stay at Rio Marie Lodge. Sample Itinerary:
- Arrival Flight to Manaus
- Charter Flight (float plane) to the Rio Marié River
- 6 full days of fishing at Rio Marie
- Float Plane Charter to Pirarucu
- 2, 4, or 6 full days of fishing at Pirarucu (depends on the Azul Airline commercial flight availability)
- Flight back to Manaus
- Flight back home
Xingu Lodge/Pirarucu Located on the banks of the sprawling Xingu River, Xingu Lodge specializes in the massive payara that patrol its waters. In addition to payara, there are ample opportunities for anglers to target other Amazonian species such as wolfish, matrincha, and peacock bass. The lodge is located just a short walk to the banks of the Xingu and offers guests a welcoming and comfortable location for some of the most remote fishing Yellow Dog offers. After seven nights and six fishing days at Xingu, anglers can opt to travel to Pirarucu for arapaima, choosing two, four, or six additional fishing days based on flights and their angling desires. Sample Itinerary (day by day):
- Arrival Manaus and overnight in Manaus
- Charter Flight to Xingu Lodge
- 6 full days fishing / 7 nights in Xingu Lodge
- Charter flight back to Manaus and overnight in Manaus
- Commercial Jet flight back to Tefe

This package offers incredible diversity in fishing opportunities in addition to the wonderful accommodations on offer.
