Description

Scott Sector 907

9' 7 weight, four piece fly rod

The Scott Sector 907 is an easy-casting and powerful fly rod ideally suited for Bonefish, small Redfish, and light Jungle fishing conditions. The powerful taper designs and new Carbon Web Technology enables this fly rod to pick up line and change casting direction with ease. A great rod choice for places like the Turneffe Atoll where long casts and tight loops with minimal false casting can make all the difference when targeting cruising fish.

The Scott Sector saltwater fly rod series from Scott fly rods sits at the pinnacle of modern fly rods with proprietary design and components. Incredibly light in hand, the Sector has the power to pick a load of line up off the water and shoot it out accurately with just a quick false cast. Feel is everything with Scott rods and the Sector carries on that tradition with sensitivity throughout the casting stroke to intuitively improve accuracy.

The Scott Sector was recognized by the fly-fishing industry as the “2019 Best New Fly Rod” at the 2019 IFTD show.

Bonefish/Tailing Reds

I've had this fly rod in my hand for about a month at this point. I've fished it for tailing redfish in South Carolina and for spooky bonefish on Turneffe Atoll in Belize. I also fished the Scott 11 weight in a Cobia tournament recently. I'll go ahead and say that the entire line of Scott Sectors is unlike any rod I've ever casted. An 11 weight feels like a 9 weight, and a 7 weight feels like a normal 5 weight in my hand in terms of weight. I casted this rod side-by-side with some fast action models that had a very stiff tip. What's great about this fly rod is that, yes it is fast, but the tip flexes. Other fly rods can't seem to get that balance of fast action, but feel. What do I mean by feel? You can literally feel the rod load. This is VERY important if you want to become a proficient caster! This allows me to make very delicate presentations if I need to, but when I need to punch it into the wind, I just stop the rod up high and let it do the work. I chose a 7 weight for redfish and bonefish because it gives me an extra edge in presentation vs. an 8 or 9. The Scott Sector 7 has been a dream come true.
