Yellow Dog clients Jay and Rob just returned from a trip to Crescent Spur Lodge where they had a fantastic fishing and lodge experience! Hear what Jay had to say about their trip:
"Rob and I returned from our trip to Crescent Spur last week. We appreciate the information provided by Yellow Dog in advance of the trip. We felt well prepared and didn’t have any issues with luggage, customs, fly reels, etc. It might be the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen, and the fishing was very good. If you have other guests interested in this type of trip, my thoughts are below:
The lodge and service were great. Accommodations were very nice with good common areas and outstanding food. Meals were healthy and flavorful, and the time spend eating breakfast/dinner in the dining room with the guides and other guests was very enjoyable.
Fishing requires a little bit of experience. Rob and I caught 24 bull trout between the two of us over the 4 days with 3 in the 30+ in range and the rest roughly 20-26 in. Fishing requires the ability to cast large streamers with sinking line/sink tips deep into the edge of pools.
Terrain requires a little bit of physical fitness. On two of the days, we hiked/waded 4+ miles in remote streams. I think Crescent Spur can adapt the plan for individuals who don’t have the same level of fitness, but the beautiful spots require a bit of effort.
Crescent Spur offers a unique experience with access to these beautiful, remote locations. All in all, I would recommend the trip, especially for someone who wants a bit of an adventure. I never visit the same location twice, but Rob and I both left at least considering a return trip at some point in the future to Crescent Spur. Thanks for your support.
