New United States Destination: Texas' Bay Flats Lodge

July 28, 23

If you're like us, you can't get enough of redfish. Smart, strong, and one of the most visually stunning saltwater species out there. How can you not love their copper bodies with accents of blue and red about spotted tails? The best part? They don't require a passport.

We're excited to add Bay Flats Lodge to the lineup and offer anglers easy access to excellent saltwater sight fishing close to home. Located along the coast of San Antonio Bay, Bay Flats Lodge specializes in providing anglers and guests immediate access to a premier inshore saltwater fishery. Bordered by more than 100,000 acres of protected marshland and coastline, the habitat is rich in marine and wildlife with little angling pressure. Shallow water salt flats and winding creeks make for exciting sight fishing for redfish and other inshore species. At the lodge, guests can choose from several suite options, enjoy hearty GulfCoast table fare, and unwind in a laidback atmosphere.

Fly fishing for redfish in Texas may not yet be as well-known as it is in their neighboring state to the east, but it is growing rapidly in popularity. Texas coastal fly fishing offers average-to-expert fly anglers a challenge like that of searching for bonefish in the Bahamas – fishing in shallow, gin-clear water with 8-weight rods, small flies, and longer leaders for an anticipated hook up with a 5 to 10 pound redfish.

With miles upon miles of grassy shorelines, back lake marshes, and winding sloughs, Texas coastal fly anglers may never see another boat throughout the day, or even throughout their entire stay at the lodge.

What's Included:

  • Lodging
  • Guided Fly Fishing
  • Breakfast and Dinner at the Lodge
