-Ā The booking and planning process were extremely easy and enjoyable. Matt and Haley made it seamless, were very quick and knowledgeable to answer my questions throughout the process.
Were the Yellow Dog pre-trip planning packet(s) and travel itinerary you received for your trip helpful and accurate? If not, how could it be improved?
-Ā The trip planning packet was spot on and the itinerary was very accurate. My only feedback to the planning packet would be that the suggested fly patterns were almost too much. In doing my research I found that fly patterns are very specific to Southern Belize. I did reach out to Matt prior to my trip and he was able to easily narrow down the selection for me for Southern Belize. His suggestions were perfect.

-Ā The lodging, food and guide services were excellent, exactly what I would have expected for a fly fishing lodge. Dennis and Scully Garbutt are top notch!!

- Thank you to Scully, who put in a lot of extra time and work over the week to put my on fish!! I can't thank him enough. Scully knows his stuff!!
What key piece(s) of gear, tackle, flies, soft goods, etc. made your trip successful?
-Ā We had a few weather days that wasn't ideal for fly fishing. Having 3 rods fully rigged for the different species was crucial to quickly jump from one spot to the next searching for different species. I had an 8wt for Bonefish, 9wt for Permit and 1 10wt for Tarpon. A couple of key pieces that made my trip successful were a green camo crab for Permit and Scully let me use a 10wt full sink line for Tarpon. I had a floating and intermediate but that wasn't enough to get down to the fish.
What piece(s) of equipment would you not leave home without for this trip?
-Ā My go to piece of gear was my Fishpond Thunderhead Submersible Backpack. I packed 90% of my fishing gear in it on the trip down in case my luggage got delayed. It was also my boat back with extra gear, fly boxes, spare spools, water, rain shell, etc. It went everywhere with me and was the perfect size.

-Ā 100%!! The fishing was incredible, the value you get at Garbutt's compared to other higher end resorts was amazing, the laid back atmosphere when you weren't fishing and the people of Belize are very welcoming.
