The Lodge Partner Program consists of lodges and outfitters within the Yellow Dog network that make an annual pledge and direct contribution at various levels to YDCCF: Premiere, Preferred, and Partner
Lodging Details
As the only operation on this section of the Aniak River, anglers have exclusive access to one of the most diverse fisheries in Alaska right out their front door. The lodge itself consists of weatherport tent camp accommodations, each with two comfortable beds, a private bathroom and hot and cold running water. This is most likely the most dialed in tent camp in all of Alaska! For being in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness, Aniak River Lodge has established incredibly comfortable yet “rustic” locations where anglers are just steps away from some of the best freshwater fishing in Alaska.
Food and Beverages
All meals are cooked on location by a professional chef and kitchen staff. Meals consist of many American favorites in addition to some international dishes and the occasional fresh sheefish caught right from the Aniak. Breakfast is served buffet style with lunches served on the river with your guide. Hot appetizers are served upon returning from the river with dinner to follow promptly at 7 PM. Aniak River Lodge does not provide any alcoholic beverages so it’s highly recommended you purchase your libations in Anchorage and bring them with you on the charter flight. You will not be able to purchase adult beverages in the town of Aniak.
Typical Length of Stay
The typical length of stay is six (6) days / seven (7) nights. Saturday to Saturday itinerary.

General Overview
Due to being the only lodge on the Aniak, Aniak River Lodge has exclusive access to nearly 60 miles of pristine rainbow trout habitat. Throughout the week, anglers will access several different sections of the river by way of jet boat and cover water by either wading or fishing directly from the boat. Mousing is a very popular tactic on this river as the rainbows are aggressive and rely heavily on rodent populations for food. The Aniak is also home to a variety of species including sheefish, northern pike, grayling, Dolly Varden, and all 5 species of Pacific salmon.
Boats and Equipment
Aniak River Lodge utilizes several 14 – 16ft jet boats to navigate the many channels on the Aniak River. If anglers need to borrow any gear, the lodge does have some available but they highly recommend everyone bring their own.

“The fishing was excellent, with the highlight being mousing those big Rainbows. But the reason you steered me to Aniak was the variety, and there was plenty of that. In addition to the big bows, I caught Dollys, grayling, pike, kings, a pink, and sockeye. I will highly recommend Aniak to all my friends. Just want to take a minute here to say thank you and Yellow Dog for the excellent guidance throughout this past year. I couldn’t (and probably wouldn’t have) done it without you. I’ll be flipping through the catalog scoping out my next adventure.” – Rick B.
