Complete with a private cellar, the lodge prides itself on delicious beverages and exquisite meals.
Food and Beverages
The lodge’s private cellar offers an array of Argentine wines that pair great with hearty meals of Argentine barbeques (asados) and other excellent international dishes. Additionally, the lodge has a great selection of whiskey in its fabulous whiskey bar. The whiskey bar boasts both single malts and blends predominately from Scotland. The selection also includes a Gordon and Macphail Cask Collection that offers 22 single cask whiskeys from 8 to 24 years old.
Typical Length of Stay
The typical lodge package at Jurassic Lake Lodge is seven (7) nights / six (6) days of fishing, however, three (3) nights / three (3) days of fishing and four (4) nights / three (3) days of fishing are also offered.
Non-Angling Activities and Options
Jurassic Lake Lodge is situated in a very remote part of Argentina, and overall, this is a fishing-focused operation. However, with that said, there are a handful of non-angling activities including birdwatching, enjoying the wonderful landscapes, and trekking the remote landscape.
Internet / Communications
The lodge offers guests unlimited Wi-Fi internet access. Cell phones do not work in this area.
How To Get There
For fishermen traveling to Jurassic Lake Lodge, we recommend that you fly from Buenos Aires’ Jorge Newbery Airport to El Calafate, Argentina. Once in El Calafate a representative from Jurassic Lake Lodge will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Spend one night in El Calafate and the following day you will be transferred to the lodge approximately 5 hours by vehicle. Note that accommodations in El Calafate should be arranged separately and are not included.
Arrival and Departure Details / Times
From Buenos Aires any flight to El Calafate will work. The following morning, you will be picked up for the vehicle transfer to the lodge. On the return trip, please book a flight that departs El Calafate in the afternoon to allow for enough time to complete the 5 hours drive from the lodge.
Documents Required
Citizens of the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and other Western European nations do not need a visa for tourist trips of up to ninety dates. You will need a valid passport and will have to fill in a landing card on arrival and you will be given a stamp for stays of thirty, sixty, or ninety days. Staple your duplicate of the landing page card into your passport, next to your entrance stamp, as you’ll need it to leave the country. If you do lose it, it’s rarely a serious problem, but you’ll have to fill in a new form at the border control. On entering the country, you’ll also be given a customs declaration form. Duty is not charged on used personal effects, books, and other articles for non-commercial purposes, up to the value of $300. Make sure you declare any valuable electronic items such as laptop computers, as customs officers can be suspicious that you may be bringing them into the country to sell.
