Relax on the main deck at the end of each day with appetizers and a cold drink from the all-inclusive bar. Dinners are four-course meals with a Caribbean and Mexican touch. Costa De Cocos provides purified bottled water in each cabana.

A standard package is seven (7) nights / six (6) fishing days, Saturday to Saturday. Shorter, custom packages and mid-week packages can also be arranged. Please contact us for details.

General Information
Over the past sixteen years, Costa De Cocos has discovered and mapped a vast network of more than 30 productive flats and lagoon systems in Chetumal Bay and the mangrove-ringed inland lagoons. Costa de Cocos is an excellent fishery for all skill levels; truly “super slam” territory!
With its numerous natural channels, Chetumal Bay provides an ideal habitat for diverse fish species. Within 100 yards of a single shoreline flat, you can cast at bonefish, permit, and tarpon. At certain times of the year, snook leave their mangrove sanctuaries to feed and warm up on the flats, giving anglers prime opportunities to target the “largemouth of the flats.”
On calm days, the oceanside flats and drop-offs provide excellent sight fishing for schools of permit and large, migratory tarpon. On windy days, the lagoons behind Xcalak provide shelter and productive fishing for baby tarpon and snook. In addition to boat fishing, Chetumal also offers excellent wade fishing.
Boats and Equipment
All boats used by the lodge are 23-foot pangas that accommodate two fishermen and a guide. Each is constructed with a forward casting deck, tandem passenger seats, and rod racks. While a limited number of loaner rods may be available, it is recommended that anglers bring their own rods, reels, flats boots, flies, and all terminal tackle.

“We wanted to reach out and thank the entire team at Yellow Dog for helping us with our Yucatan adventure to Costa De Cocos Lodge! Everyone involved at Yellow Dog was helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. We couldn’t be more impressed and thankful! Your insight into the fishery in the Yucatan was priceless, and the lodge and staff at CDC were incredible. It was a memorable trip without question and will be remembered for a lifetime. Thank you once again for guiding us through that adventure!” – Ronald and Stefanie B.
“Excellent. The service was fantastic. We were greeted each day at the docks by 2 staff members: 1 to take our fly rods and place the reels in freshwater buckets for rinsing and 1 to hand us the “drink of the day” from the bar. We departed each day on time (or not) based on our preferences.” – Brian F.
“This destination is an excellent place for the whole family. Fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, sea kayaking, swimming, etc. are all available in a private setting near a small town and there is ample electricity on-site along with comfortable lodging and plenty of hot water for showering. Food was absolutely amazing, especially the soups, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating of every need. Topped by some great fishing, including several good shots at permits, plenty of bones, and a few baby tarpons cruising around, this place had everything I expected in a vacation.” – Darwin E.
“I went with an expectation of giant tarpon but the combination of crazy wind and the backside of the full moon messed that up. Funny how what you’re expecting might not happen but things work out anyway. 3 grand slams later…I was really happy with my unmet expectations!” – Ryan M.
“Costa de Cocos is a wonderfully run lodge and system. The food and fishing experience was world-class and Zak Beavers and the staff worked hard to keep us happy and comfortable. I’ll be back.” – Cole H.
“I had an absolutely wonderful time at Costa de Cocos. It exceeded all of my expectations. I’ve never encountered the overall friendliness and professionalism that was exhibited here. Best trip ever. Thank you Yellow Dog for making it happen. Incidentally, I’m still riding a high for catching my first permit. Thank you all.” – Philip A.
