General Information
Between a 2-minute walk from your cabin and a 45-minute drive, the lodge has access to multiple private walk and wade fisheries including 1.5 miles of the famed Rock Creek. All sections are monitored, fished on a rotation basis, and rested between angling groups. The lodge’s well-stocked gear room includes top-of-the-line rods, reels, waders, boots, and other essential gear for guests to use if they don’t bring their own.
Rock Creek, a gem nestled near Philipsburg, Montana, stands as a testament to the excellence of Western Montana’s fly fishing opportunities. This pristine freestone stream offers an angling experience that should be on every angler’s bucket list. With its crystal-clear waters, untouched wilderness setting, and thriving trout populations, it's a destination that beckons fishing enthusiasts from all corners of the world.
The creek's renown is further amplified by its spectacular Salmonfly hatch, a fly angler's annual spectacle. During this event, the creek comes alive with a feast for the trout, accompanied by a variety of other aquatic insects like stoneflies, caddis, mayflies, and an abundance of other trout food offerings. This is a dry fly paradise! Here, anglers can expect encounters with cutthroat, cut bow, brown, and brook trout, each offering a challenge that's as exhilarating as it is rewarding. Rock Creek's meandering 52 mile course allows for a diverse fishing experience, from wading the gentle shallows to floating along its scenic banks, though floats are only available in the month of June. Surrounded by lush foliage, enveloped by rolling meadows and the ruggedness of Western Montana's mountains, Rock Creek isn't just a fishing destination; it's an immersive experience in the heart of the great outdoors.
In addition to Rock Creek, The Meadows on Rock Creek provides exclusive access to various nearby waterways, catering to the preferences of even the most selective anglers. Our assortment of private-access water ensures our guests receive a truly secluded angling experience, as opposed to the highly pressured and angler occupied public access sections. If you desire a private angling experience, look no further than The Meadows on Rock Creek.
